TESTIMONIALS

“Meadowthorpe Assisted Living has been a wonderful facility, and has helped my grandmother so much. They worked with us when we thought we were going to have to move her to another facility, but instead, she was able to stay in her unit. The facility is super nice, very clean, and well-kept. The residents are wonderful as well. The administrators and nursing staff go above and beyond, and for that we are grateful and highly recommend this facility to anyone who might be considering them. I would also be remiss if I did not mention their extraordinary handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. Meadowthorpe was ahead of the curve when they implemented mask and social distancing safety guidelines. All residents and employees are tested on a regular basis and they even email weekly updates on all residents and employees for added peace of mind. I have not for one second feared that my grandmother would contract the virus while under their care. Thank you for all your help Meadowthorpe, we don’t know where we would be without you.”

“Over the time mom began to call (Meadowthorpe) home. She had stories to tell. She was happy and told me so. Last year mom was diagnosed with dementia and later Alzheimer’s. As she forgot her home, friends and eventually even me, she seemed calm not scared. The things that she did remember were the staff. She would ask why she was in this strange room and who I was but would perk up when she saw a staff member and would call them by name. I can’t tell you how much this gave me comfort. I can honestly say there was never any regret on moving mom into this facility. The concept, the layout and most especially the staff, were far more that mom could have ever hoped for when she designed this plan. Thank all you for what you did for mom, she will truly miss you all.”

Nearly 2 1/2 years ago it became obvious that my father, who was in his 90s needed to be somewhere that offered help with the medication reminders, feeding and personal care. We looked around Lexington and the surrounding areas and discovered Meadowthorpe assisted living. It was is a unique concept of eight apartments around a common area and each of the five buildings. The rooms were well appointed and fairly large compared to many that we saw. The buildings felt more like home then a large facility. There were rocking chairs for the residents on the front porch and wonderful areas for gardening and sitting in the back. As my father became weaker with age and cancer, metal Thorpe offered kind, caring help to both my father and our family, particularly in the final months of his life. When he went under hospice care the team at the middle Fork made every effort to support his care plan. In the final weeks of his life the staff and management treated both my dad and our family like their own family. They checked on us, offered us meals and kind words of encouragement. This unique setting offered us a time to be with her dad in a home environment yet with assistance and support. We are grateful that we found Meadowthorpe and for all their kind support and care. “On behalf of myself and my family, I wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Meadowthorpe Assistted Living for the marvelous care you provided for our mother, Carolyn Cox, during her time there. I now realize that taking care of a stroke patient was quite involved and the MAL caregivers went above and beyond our expectations. In fact, my mother grew quite close to one of the caregivers and one might argue that she became our mother’s most important advocate. That situation in of itself allowed us – perhaps selfishly – small respites in both mind and body simply knowing that she was being looked after in such a great way. The staff was responsive and proactive with us and we always felt that any questions and/or comments we might have had were addressed in a timely manner. Finally, and I said this to the administrator several times, the food is great! I even told her MAL should get Uber Eats involved and allow pickups! Thanks Meadowthorpe from the Coxes!”
